Safari Description: This is a two night Safari into Samburu Game reserve. Scenically and faunally dramatic, for most of the year Samburu is sere under the unsympathetic equatorial sun. But relief comes from the wide swath of the Ewaso Ngiro River which rises some hundreds of kilometers to the west on the foothills of the Aberdares and which vanishes beyond Samburu in the recesses of the Lorian swamp

Safari itinerary…

Day 1: Nairobi-Samburu Game Reserve
You leave Nairobi early in the morning and drive north past large plantations of pineapple, coffee and tea, a long the foothills of Mount Kenya and across the equator to Samburu. You arrive at your luxury-tented camp/Lodge for lunch. Lunch is followed by an afternoon game drive, dinner and overnight. (BLD)-

Day 2: Samburu-Game Reserve
Early morning game drive is followed by a late breakfast in the camp followed by lunch. After lunch you enjoy an afternoon game drive through the forest of the Ewaso Nyiro River with very good chances of sporting elephants. The reserve is set against a backdrop of volcanic mountains; giant hills withered scrub trees punctuate the sparse and noiseless terrain with clusters of the incredibly hardy desert rose providing occasional flashes of vivid color. It is here, among the large herds of Oryx that we find the rare gravy zebra, the reticulated giraffe and the gerenuks that are only found in this unique park. Day 3: Samburu-Nairobi
There is an early morning game drive followed by breakfast and after you drive back South past the foothills of Mount Kenya to Nairobi. – B
