Safari Description: This safari visits the Great Rift Valley and the Masai Mara. Departure is at 1400hrs on the first day, where you drive down into the Great Rift Valley and spend the night at a hotel on the shores of the Lake. Hippos are frequent visitors to the Compound at night and can watch them from the safety of your rooms. On the second day you leave early to drive to the Masai Mara where two nights will be spent. The Masai Mara is undoubtedly the jewel of Kenya's game reserves. It is the northern extension of the world famous Serengeti Reserve and it is to this area that the annual migration of wildebeest takes place (generally between June and September). Amongst its many animals, the Mara is well known for the large prides of black manned lion.

Safari Itinerary ...

Day 1: Nairobi – Lake Naivasha
Leaving Nairobi at 1400hrs you drive up to the edge of the eastern escarpment of the Great Rift Valley and then plunge down the valley wall to the floor below. Optional boat rides on the lake to look out for the Hippos that abound in this lake. Overnight is at a hotel with a lovely compound on the lakeshore. The bird life here is magnificent - D

Day 2: Lake Naivasha- Masai Mara
Leaving after breakfast you drive up the western wall of the escarpment and across the Loita Plains to arrive at your lodge in the Masai Mara for lunch. After lunch, time to relax, and then an evening game drive among the huge herds of wildlife, returning to your lodge in time for a shower before dinner. (BLD)

Day 3: Masai Mara
Morning and afternoon game drives in the reserve. There is time to relax between the game drives in the grounds of the Lodge, or take a walk through the forest, along the designated walkway, to overlook the nearby waterhole. (BLD)

Day 4: Masai Mara- Nairobi
Leaving Masai Mara after an early breakfast, you drive back to Nairobi, arriving before lunch at the end of your safari. Breakfast is included.
