AA 48: Meru National Park – Elsa’s Safari-3 days
2 nights Safari into Meru National Park made famous by the book and film Born free that recounted the story of the lives of George and Joy Adamson, and the lioness, Elsa. The Spotted Sphinx also tells about Pippa the Cheetah that Joy helped to raise. You will truly enjoy the wilderness and the wildlife of Meru National Park.
Day 1: Nairobi-Meru National park
Leave Nairobi in the early morning and drive to Meru Park arriving for lunch at Leopard Rock Lodge/Elsa’s Kopje. After lunch enjoy and afternoon game drives in the park with its untamed wilderness. The park is one of the most scenic parks in Kenya with Mt. Kenya visible in the far distance. The park has incredible sunsets over nearby Nyambeni hills and is also known for the elephant herds and the rare Gerenuk antelope. Dinner and overnight at either Elsa’s Kopje or Leopard Rock lodge
Day 2: Meru National Park
You will continue to explore this Kenya’s best-kept secrets. Meru was made famous by the book and film Born free that recounted the story of the lives of George and Joy Adamson, and the lioness, Elsa. The Spotted Sphinx also tells about Pippa the Cheetah that Joy helped to raise. You will truly enjoy the wilderness and the wildlife of Meru National Park.
Day 3: Meru-Nairobi
There is an early morning game drive followed by breakfast and after you drive back South past the foothills of Mount Kenya to Nairobi.
