AT 119: Ngorongoro Crater â Visit Lake Manyara â 3 Days
Lake Manyara lies at the base of the Great Rift Valley Escarpment and is two-third water and one-third dry land. The lake provides sanctuary to over 350 species of birds including flamingoes, storks, pelican, sacred IBIS, and Egyptian geese, Ngorongoro crater, the eighth wonder of the world, is the largest calderas in the world, the surrounding walls raise up to 600 meters from the crates floor. The floor is home to many species of game and birds.
Day 1: Arusha/Ngorongoro
Depart Arusha with picnic lunch boxes and drive to Ngorongoro Crater for dinner and overnight at your Crater Lodge overlooking the floor-LD
Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast you have a full day's game viewing on the floor of the crater with picnic lunch. The large herd of plains game found here attracts plenty of predators, mainly lion and hyena but also cheetah and leopard. Dinner and overnight at your lodge-BLD
Day 3: Ngorongoro /Lake Manyara/Arusha
Breakfast is followed by a morning drive along the Lakeshore. Elephant are often seen browsing on the vegetation in the spectacular ground water forest, home to troops of baboons and blue monkeys, wildebeest, Zebra and giraffe seen on the open plains. After a picnic lunch in the Park, drive back to Arusha-B
