Best of Kenya – Mt Kenya/Samburu/Lake Nakuru/Masai Mara – 7 days

Safari Type: Lodge Safari Duration: 6 nights 7 days
Locations Visited: Mount Kenya/Samburu/Lake Nakuru/Masai Mara
Safari Description: This safari combines some of Kenya best parks and reserves starting off with the mountainous region of Mount Kenya where the night is spent in a quiet Tree Hotel that overlooks a water hole where the big five come to quench their thirst. From the safety of your rooms you watch the sceneries unfolding. The following day, you cross the equator and enter Samburu National Reserve situated in the hot and arid part of Kenya’s vast Northern Frontier District against a backdrop of volcanic mountains; giant hills withered scrub trees punctuate the sparse and noiseless terrain with clusters of the incredibly hardy desert rose providing occasional flashes of vivid color. It is here, among the large herds of Oryx that the rare gravy zebra, the reticulated giraffe and the gerenuks are only found in this unique park. From Samburu, you cross the walls of the Great Rift Valley with dramatic landscapes to Lake Nakuru, and ornithological paradise before heading to the Masai Mara-the 8th wonder of the world where the annual migration of the wildebeest takes place.

Your Itinerary….

Ringed by a dense rain forest that comes alive at dusk with the myriad sounds of creatures all sizes. This is the adventure offered at Mountain Lodge, regarded by many as having the most consistently high record of animal "visits" and sightings in the area. The rest of the afternoon/evening is spent watching game from the balconies of the lodge with dinner and overnight at the Lodge - (LD)
