Safari Description: This is a three days adventure safari to the Masai Mara- one of the world’s finest wilderness area-declared the 8th wonder of the world and home to the big five – elephant, rhino, buffalo, leopard and the lion. The Masai Mara an extension of the Serengeti National Park teems with millions of Wildebeest during the annual migration in the months of July, August, and September and sometimes depending on the rainfall pattern up to mid October. Itinerary: -
Day 1: Nairobi-Masai Mara
Departing from your Nairobi Hotel at 0730hrs, you drive to the Edge of the Great Rift Valley and stop briefly for the view. This magnificent valley extends all the way from Lebanon across Egypt and Ethiopia down to Malawi. In Kenya, it’s intercepted by dramatic landscapes and lakes that form some of the world’s best ornithological sites. Continuing down the valley, you drive along the floor spotting the majestic Masai Herdsmen with their cattle and an occasional Manyatta (Masai Homestead) to Narok, a major trading centre. It’s a short distance from here to your lodge/Tented Camp arriving in time for lunch. Lunch is followed by an afternoon game drive into the game filled plains of this park an extension of the Serengeti. Animals to be seen include lion, giraffe, buffalo, hyenas, and a lot of plain game. Dinner and overnight at your Lodge/Tented lodge. (LD
ay 2: Masai Mara
Early breakfast if followed by a game drive down to the hippo-pools. The famous Mara is renowned for its great herds of plain game, the annual wildebeest migration, and other wildlife variety. Picnic lunch in the park and continue on game drives, searching for some of the game not yet seen. The rolling grasslands of the Masai Mara offer ideal game viewing and photographic opportunities. The grassy plains are broken by rocky outcrops, which are favorite midday resting places for lion. Some of the other animals, which can be found, include elephant, black rhino, buffalo, leopard, cheetah, wildebeest, zebra and gazelle. Dinner and overnight at the Tented Camp/lodge. (BLD)
Day 3: Masai Mara-Nairobi
After an early morning game drive and breakfast, drive back to Nairobi arriving just before lunch. Drop off at your hotel. (B)
